Chorii Privacy Policy

The short version

You don't need an account or an email to use Chorii. We store the household and chore data you put into the app so it can sync across your devices. We don't sell data, show ads, or use your data to train AI. Purchases go through Apple and Google, so we never see your payment details.

What we collect

Things you type into the app: your household name, the nicknames and avatars of household members, the chores you add, their point values and multipliers, and the log of completed chores.

Technical things, generated automatically: an anonymous identifier for your device (so we can sync your data), a household ID, invite codes, basic device info (OS, app version, language), and your IP address while you're connected.

Purchases: if you subscribe to Chorii Pro, Apple or Google handles the payment. We only receive confirmation that a valid subscription exists.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for your email, phone number, real name, or location. We don't access your contacts, camera, or microphone unless you use a feature that needs it. We don't show ads, sell your data, or use it to train AI models.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers we need to run the app:

• Hetzner (Germany) — hosts our backend and stores your household data
• Apple and Google — handle the app store and subscriptions

We will disclose data if legally required to.

How long we keep it

We keep your household data for as long as your household is active. You can delete your household or yourself from within the app at any time, which permanently removes the data within 30 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you're unhappy with how we handle it. You can do most of this directly in the app. For anything else, email privacy@getchorii.app.

Since Chorii has no account system, we identify you by the anonymous ID on your device. If you want to make a request from outside the app, you'll need to share that ID (visible in app settings) so we can find your data.

Children

Chorii is not directed at children. Anyone can use it, but we expect children to use it on a parent's invitation, on a family device. If you believe a child has used Chorii in a way you'd like us to address, email us and we'll sort it out.

International transfers

Hetzner stores your data in Germany. Where any data is processed outside the EU, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will reflect the latest change. For anything material, we'll let you know in the app first.
